Dupe

“Absolutely gorgeous. The figure, the silhouette … this is divine!”

Dupe, mother of the groom, in Lagos, eyes lowered: a purple and gold gele head tie, gold bead necklace and a high-neck gold lace top over a sculpted purple Aso Oke corset.

Dupe’s gown

A striking three-piece couture ensemble celebrating Nigerian heritage and sophisticated elegance.

An intricately embellished lace top with a high neckline and dramatic flared sleeves is worn beneath a sculpted strapless corset in rich purple Aso Oke. Lace appliqués are individually hand-sewn onto the corset, accentuating the signature Kosibah hourglass silhouette.

A fitted skirt in gold Aso Oke, featuring distinctive purple woven bands at the hem and hand-applied lace embellishments along the waistline, completes the ensemble.

  • A man in white with a blue cap fastens the back of Dupe's purple Aso Oke corset. The full ensemble shows: lace top with flared sleeves, fitted gold Aso Oke skirt with a purple woven band at the hem, purple heels.
  • Dupe laughing, full length against wood panelling, a purple and gold hand fan under her arm. Flared lace sleeves, the strapless corset and the fitted gold skirt draw the hourglass silhouette.
  • Dupe seated on a floral sofa at the celebration, holding a hand fan, beside a man in a pale-green embroidered agbada and cap; guests in turquoise gele sit behind.
  • Fashion illustration of Dupe in the full ensemble and gele, with three fabric swatches beside her: gold sequinned lace on purple, purple Aso Oke, and gold Aso Oke with purple woven bands. Signed Yemi Osunkoya, Kosibah.
